Police Accidentally Enter The Wrong House, See Christmas Tree And Know It Was God’s Plan

Updated December 11, 2017

Christmas time brings out the best in people. While it can be a stressful time of year (just ask Target), especially as people scramble to snatch up the good deals on presents and give their loved ones the things they want, it is also a time of year to remember what we are grateful for and to show love to those around us. And if we can find the heart to share our love with a stranger, we can do wonders in brightening up their day.

That’s what happened when two Ohio police officers accidentally busted into the wrong house. When they entered the foyer, they saw the occupants’ Christmas tree. The sight of the beautiful tree made them smile, but then they noticed the ornaments hanging from its branches. The shiny decorations caught their eyes. When the officers realized what they mean, they started to tear up.

“Partner and I accidentally went to the wrong address today on a run and stumbled across this beautiful tree,” one of the dedicated police officers wrote on the Facebook group Ohio Going Blue. “The owner took the time to write down every Officer killed in the line of duty this year and place it on the tree. Not only did she do all the Humans but she included all the K9s on the small ornaments. She calls it the ‘Tree of Honor’ guess our paths were meant to cross since she just finished it last night.”

Because the Ohio woman’s Tree of Honor inspired the officers, they snapped a picture to share with all the other cops in the state. The tree was so inspiring that it quickly went viral on the Facebook group. Now thousands of people see it as news websites have picked up the story to share with their many followers.

At the time of this writing, the image posted on Facebook was shared hundreds of times and got more than 2,000 likes from police supporters. Although the police who discovered the Tree of Honor wished to remain anonymous, comments came in from people all over the country to share their heartwarming gratitude toward the homeowner who posted the tree to honor the fallen officers.

“Wow. That is one awesome woman. The tree is beautiful, but I think it has enough ornaments on it. Hoping she doesn’t have to add any more,” Gloria Skipworth commented on Ohio Going Blue’s Facebook page.

“God bless her and all of our officers; those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and those presently serving,” Karen Moran wrote.

Others shared their thoughts through images, such as this one:

“Such a beautiful tribute it’s unfortunate we live in a world with so much hatred for law enforcement but seeing things like this tree makes me believe that they’re people in this world that do respect law enforcement,” Mike Jones wrote.

“Wow….how extraordinary and what a wonderful thing for her to do….hope and pray no more ornaments are created now or at any time in the future,” Liza Cason wrote.

“What an amazing thing to do. I pray she doesn’t ever have to add another ornament to it. May God bless and protect all officers and their K9s,” Debbi Utt wrote.
